This exceptionally original 1963 Fender Brownface Deluxe represents one of the most revered periods in Fender amplifier history. The brownface era (1960-1963) is considered by many tone purists to be Fender's finest achievement, bridging the tweed and blackface eras with unique tonal characteristics. This example retains remarkable originality: original cabinet, Oxford speaker, transformers (including what appears to be an original export 220V power transformer), and nearly all audio components and resistors with untouched solder joints. The amp has received professional service with premium F&T and Sprague filter and cathode bypass capacitors, new JJ power and rectifier tubes, and thorough cleaning of inputs, outputs, and tube sockets.
