FS: rare Vox Astro IV violin bass in excellent condition. Comes with well preserved original case. Recently serviced (electronics, luthier). Neck and body are in an amazingly good state. It's unbelievable how much low end this funky thing produces!
The Vox Astro IV was the funk Italian answer to the world famous Hofner 500/1 Beatle bass. It's only been produced for a couple of years and originally came with built in G-tuner, distortion booster, treble and bass booster running on a 9V battery. The G-tuner switch has been modded into an on/off switch for the booster circuits, prolonging battery life. The original distortion circuit was beyond repair and has been replaced with a similar circuit. The turtoise pick guard has been removed to avoid chemical damage. Tone 2 knob is missing.
