Enclosed are pictures of the case the instrument will come in, it is a very heavy case of leather and solid wood made in the USA with zippers branded USA interiorly and AMERIC on the outside the cover is a ver mid century feel. It's in near MINT condition and a perfect combination for this fiddle! The dust cover is a heavy duty canvas that cant be found in this day and age in modern cases. The case itself is a good showpiece and has 2 small compartments for accessories and a larger for shoulder rest pencils etc. The Canvas can be taken off completely and the lining can also be taken off to wash which great design feature.
As you can see varnish changes and shimmers in different lighting indicating it's quality. The case itself is a good weight as it's solid wood and leather. Plus the dust cover which could last another 50 years if well taken care of unlike cheaper modern cases. The leather handle shows no sign of deterioration. It is an obvious later addition by our estimation mid 60's to 70's. And is still functioning when Made in The USA meant quality!

Beautiful patina of a golden orange - brown varnish covers the tiger flamed maple wood Two piece back with matching ribs, neck and scroll. The top is made of a well selected  straight, fine grain spruce.

One can sense, the violin was professionally constructed by highly skilled hands. From the gorgeously designed fluted f-holes, to the meticulous edge work, impeccably laid out purfling, attractively carved scroll, elegant curves and good arching that makes this violin a winner!

The inside workmanship is smooth, polished with all four corners blocked and reinforced by lining strips. All Joints & seams are tight & sealed. Commendable workmanship throughout.

Luckily, the violin has no sound post or bass bar cracks or damage! The violin does have a repair at the bottom rib around the endpin and a well repaired hairline crack below the bottom right f-hole of no consequence. With normal wear and tear, typical of  a well used violin of over 100 years old.  All joints and seams are tightly sealed, in the back, top, sides and anywhere in between.

Carlo Micelli is a trade name use by the C. Meisel workshop in Saxony from the early to mid 20th century along with other makers such as the Ernst Heinrich Roth Firm these violins form Markneukirchen are highly sought after for their tone and exceptional quality in craftsmanship. This appears to be a Guarneri Copy with a bright warm tone with ample projection and mature robust tone suitable for professionals or advancing musicians. Se up with NEW ASCENT Violin Strings and fittings, new Chinrest; tailpiece and 'e' fine tuner. Ships in an old case for protection nicely packed with string set up and ready to play. Bridge might need work but otherwise it's completely playable.
