All E Series / Traditional Series from Eastman are based on the iconic western guitars of the "pre-war golden-era". And so, within this series you will find traditional and iconic body shapes such as dreadnoughts, OMs, OOOs and OOs. No cut-aways or pre-installed pickups; just like the old days. 

The E8D has a solid sitka spruce top, solid rosewood sides and back, 3-piece mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and hand-carved scalloped X-bracing; a mix of hi-end specifications that results in a very fine balance of boomy low-end and crystal clear top-end. This specific ingredient package will please the flatpicker that's looking for a dynamic and rich tone. And yes; the E8D is very similar in specification to the iconic D28 but at a price point to where we concern this Eastman to be the ultimate "bang for a buck"!

All E8 series guitars are available only with TC / "Thermo Cured" body tops. The top wood of Eastman's Thermo Cured guitars are heat-treated which makes the guitar sound significantly more resonant and dynamic than the former non-Thermo Cured version. Moreover, this treatment gives the guitar a beautiful antique look!
