About this listing
2016 Gibson SG Special Faded T – Worn Brown – Gator Hard CaseA very nice example of a 2016 Gibson SG Special Faded T in Worn Brown, complete with a good quality Gator brown hard case. The Faded Series has always had a strong following because it keeps the SG simple and traditional. You get the classic mahogany body and neck combination, rosewood fingerboard, twin Gibson humbuckers and familiar SG hardware, but with a thinner satin nitro finish that allows more of the wood grain and natural character to show through. That Worn Brown finish suits the guitar particularly well. It has a much more understated look than a full-gloss SG and, as the finish is deliberately thin, it naturally shows small marks and handling wear more readily over time. The neck has Gibson’s fuller ’50s Rounded profile, which gives it a more substantial feel than the slimmer SG necks and makes it a very comfortable guitar for rhythm work as well as lead playing.Electronics are handled by a pair of Gibson 490R and 490T humbuckers. The 490R in the neck gives plenty of warmth and fullness, while the 490T bridge pickup adds more bite and definition. With the traditional two-volume, two-tone layout and 3-way toggle, it covers everything you would expect from a classic SG setup. The hardware is equally familiar, with a Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece and Gibson Deluxe vintage-style tuners.ConditionThis guitar is in good overall condition for its age, with a number of cosmetic marks that have been photographed clearly. There are several small dings and chips around the body, along with light scratches and normal signs of use to the thin Worn Brown finish. The most noticeable mark is a larger chip to the underside/back edge of the headstock. This is cosmetic only and there is no crack, repair or structural damage associated with it.There are also some smaller marks to the rear and edges of the body, plus light handling wear to the neck and finish, but overall the guitar still presents very well. Most importantly, the guitar is structurally sound, the neck is straight, the frets have plenty of life, and it plays exactly as it should. All pickups, controls and electrics are working correctly.Specification• Model: Gibson SG Special Faded T• Year: 2016• Finish: Worn Brown• Body: Solid Mahogany• Neck: Mahogany• Neck Profile: ’50s Rounded• Fingerboard: Rosewood• Fingerboard Radius: 12”• Scale Length: 24.75”• Frets: 22• Nut Width: Approx. 1.695”• Neck Pickup: Gibson 490R Humbucker• Bridge Pickup: Gibson 490T Humbucker• Controls: 2 Volume, 2 Tone• Pickup Selector: 3-Way Toggle• Bridge: Tune-O-Matic• Tailpiece: Stopbar• Inlays: Dot• Tuners: Gibson Deluxe Vintage-Style• Pickguard: Black Full-Face• Case: Gator Brown Hard Case IncludedA great way into a genuine USA-made Gibson SG, with the added bonus of a proper hard case rather than the gig bag these were originally supplied with. What’s IncludedCases, gig bags and accessories are only included where explicitly stated in the description or shown in the photographs. This guitar includes a good quality Gator brown hard case.We also stock a selection of hard cases and gig bags which can be purchased separately.
