For sale: A rarer, more unconventional multi-effects processor/modeler.

The pedal is based on open-source plugins, with virtual pedalboards created in a web-based editor featuring completely free signal routing, all packaged in a pedalboard-friendly format. The only real limitation is the processing power of the unit itself. In addition to the hundreds of available plugins, the system also supports NAM and AIDA-X captures, as well as IRs. On top of that, it offers extensive MIDI routing options, CV functionality (which I don't even fully understand myself), and much more.

The system works like this: you create a virtual pedalboard using the web editor and save it directly to the device. Once that's done, all of your sounds are available directly from the pedal without needing a computer. To make use of the pedal's footswitches and knobs, you'll also need to assign and map them within your preset. One of my own bass pedalboards can be seen in the photos.

To be completely honest, this isn't the easiest device in the world to learn. However, if you enjoy experimenting and feel that the interfaces of traditional modelers are too restrictive, this is an outstanding piece of gear.

The unit itself is built like a tank with a sturdy metal enclosure and has proven to be very reliable—excellent German engineering. The team at MOD Audio also contributed to the development of products such as the Darkglass Anagram multi-effects unit. Included are the power supply, USB cable, and the official semi-rigid MOD Dwarf carrying case.
