This module connects a MIDI device with your Polyvox allowing you to finally play it without having to use the expensive SM-3 interface or the unusual and rare keyboard or accordion with the bass and chord buttons not so pratical.

The module was designed to interface a 5 or 6 octaves MIDI keyboard, allowing to play in real time the Polyvox.

The interface faithfully reproduces the Solton keyboard protocol BUT allows 4 different working modes that you can select through a dip switch.

Mode 1

First octave C1-B1 bass and chords. The lowest note plays on both the bass and the chords.

The remaining part of the keyboard ( 4 octaves) are reserved to upper manual. C2-C6.

Mode 2

Like mode 0 but exploits the range of the bass-chord parts to one octave and half.

Upper manual start from F2 to C6.

Mode 3

Allocates bass and chords to the first and a half octaves (C0-E1) of a 6-octave keyboard.

Upper manual start from C2 to C6.

Mode 4

It implements an accordion-type mechanismon the first octave and half.

example: playing C1 sounds C major.

playing C1 and c1# plays C minor

If you add D it also sounds the 7th, if you add D# it sounds the 7th dim.

Using then built in 4- dip-switch it is possible to select the MIDI channel from 1 to 15, or operate in OMNI mode.

The interface implements Note on, Note off and Control Change Midi messages.

With CC commands it is possible to simulate the pressing of the preset and instrument keys present both on the SM-3 module and on the Solton keyboard.

A user manual explain the MIDI chart implementation and a troubleshooting guide.

Look at the preliminary video that I recorded with my cell phone, it just helps to give an idea, but the operation and purpose is quite simple.

(Sorry if I use a liturgic organ as master keyboard, but it was the more close keyboard ,Bach & C, forgive me! )
