The Jazzmaster® was originally advertised as the guitar that contained "all the famous Fender innovations," where "all the benefits are there." Designed to provide a high-end playing experience and to tempt jazz guitarists to switch to a solidbody electric guitar, this futuristic offset with a comfortable profile is the furthest you can imagine from a boxy archtop. Perhaps predictably, the guitar didn't make its way into the hearts of jazz players, but was soon taken up by surf musicians in the 60s, and later, by indie-rock, alternative, and even country guitarists.

The American Vintage II 1966 Jazzmaster features a comfortable “C”-shaped maple neck with unbeatable playability, a round-lam rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25” radius, and vintage-height frets. . A hallmark of the 1966 production, this guitar is offered with white neck binding, rectangular mother-of-pearl dot inlays, inline “Fender Deluxe” tuners, and color-matched headstock (custom colors only). The patented floating tremolo, adjustable bridge with threaded saddles, and Pure Vintage '66 Jazzmaster pickups, wired to create the unmistakable rhythm and lead circuits, produce classic tones and all the feel of a real Fender.
