This is a classic AKG D20B dynamic microphone, serial number 3571, in excellent vintage condition.
The microphone has clearly been well cared for over the years. The original wooden storage case has helped preserve it properly, and the overall condition strongly suggests that it has always been stored safely when not in use.

The inside of the microphone also looks very clean and original. As shown in the internal photo, there are no visible signs of damage, loose parts, corrosion or obvious defects. The wiring, capsule area, suspension and internal components all present very well.

The microphone has been serviced and tested to make sure it delivers the full, warm and powerful low end these large diaphragm AKG dynamics are known for.

The sound is impressive: full, deep and natural, with a beautiful low end, clear mids and a strong musical character. It sounds big and solid without becoming muddy. It is especially well suited for kick drum, bass cabinet, brass, broadcast voice and other sources where a rich and natural low frequency response is desired.

The built in bass attenuation switch is fully functional and offers 0 dB, 7 dB and 12 dB attenuation at 50 Hz, making the microphone flexible for different recording and live situations.
