Roland CR-80 Human Rhythm Player – Faulty / Repair Project + Original Power Supply

For the electronics enthusiast or repairer looking for a nice project.

Roland CR-80 Human Rhythm Player from the early 1990s.

The unit powers on normally, and the display and controls respond as they should. However, there is currently either no audio output or only a very weak signal from the audio outputs.

I opened the unit for a visual inspection. I could not see any obviously leaking or swollen capacitors.

Please note that the CR-80 is explicitly sold as a faulty unit / repair project.

Included:

Original Roland AC adapter

User manual

Service notes

Schematics

Assortment of new capacitors

Cosmetically, the unit is still in nice condition for its age. Please see the photos.

Asking price for the CR-80 including power supply, documentation and parts: €80.

The three Roland Music/Rhythm Style Cards shown in the photos are also available separately:

Roland RN-CR-01 – 90’s Dance

Roland TN-SC1-02 – 50’s and 60’s

Roland TN-SC1-03 – 70’s and 80’s

Price for all three cards together: €80.

This is €80 for the complete set of three cards, not €80 per card.

Collection in Ghent, Belgium is also possible.
