Here is a very nice Albert system bass clarinet, in playable condition!
All keys move and rebound freely. There is a mixture of white leather pads and fishies of varying ages, but all pads seal well, and the horn plays easily to low E.
Any servicing would be very minor, perhaps one or two key heights, and some adjustment of the key guides for the long LH keys, which are inclined to scrape a bit.
There are no dents or dings to the bell or neck. The top of the neck has some plating wear.
The horn is in excellent physical condition, except for some prominent scratches, near the top post of the RH Bb/F sliver key, as pictured.
Both joints are simply marked "Chapart", with a lyre symbol above, and a star below. There is no serial number, that I could find.
It was possibly made by Orsi, but this is pure speculation on my part.
This is a wide bore instrument, approximately 23mm+, and plays well with any normal Boehm system mouthpiece.
It's an eminently playable horn, featuring:--
* Patent C#;
* RH side Eb/Bb key; and
* LH Eb/Ab lever.
Vintage Albert system basses typically don't have the first two, and certainly don't have the third. So, unless you want to sell your house, and buy a modern German system bass clarinet......
I'm an Albert system player myself, so do yourself a favour, before I change my mind, and keep it :-)
