Penzel Mueller A Clarinet--Black Valentino Master's Overhaul!

The least expensive A clarinet we are offering for sale!  This is a Penzel-Mueller wooden instrument made in France.  (Note that if your student is looking for the more common Bb clarinet, please see our other listings; this is not a Bb clarinet.)  The barrel is unmarked but seems to be original. All grenadilla body with small cracks repaired in the bell and barrel—all so nicely that you very likely would never have noticed if we weren’t so picky about disclosing them. Middle tenon had some wear and chips on the edge, and these were built up and left a tad oversized on purpose to prevent wobbling between the joints. Nickel silver keys rather than nickel plated, which means they don’t polish up bright and shiny like plated instruments, but also never wear through.  Best of all, it has just been through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, had all new tenon corks installed, keywork tightened and materials replaced as needed, and was repadded with all new Valentino Master’s series black synthetic pads (except one; sorry--I ran out of black.)  It plays very nicely with a soft feel to the action, a large, open tone and excellent projection.  Intonation is good, a bit like an early Selmer and nothing a good player would find himself unable to compensate for. And again, it is a low pitch instrument. Selling this without a case as we have several for sale separately and are happy to combine shipping. A great A clarinet without dropping $2,500 on an R13—considered a pro instrument in its day and perfect for advanced students or as a backup to your main clarinet!
