The Carvin Belair 50w 2X12 is an amp with excellent vintage rock-blues sound (you can look up the rave reviews online), but it has a serious manufacturing flaw that makes it fragile: the sockets for the power tubes are mounted directly on the circuit board, and, given the high temperatures of the EL84s and the fact that the upside-down mounting creates a thermal convection effect, the circuit board can burn out when used at high volumes.

So, the power section of this amp has been professionally converted to point-to-point wiring with:

- Shielded cables between the main board and the rear connections

- Test points on the cathodes of the power tubes

- Complete rewiring of the power tubes with a single-path layout (this serves to keep high voltages away from low-voltage points and to prevent feedback and arcing)

- Addition of a safety fuse on the power stage

The speakers have been replaced with Jensen Neo 12/100s, which provide greater loudness (it has impressive volume) and more solid bass, while lightening the amplifier (which has a birch plywood chassis) to a weight of 19 kg.

This amplifier is a unique opportunity to purchase a boutique-quality piece with great sound, extremely powerful, and very lightweight.

This is a first-series model, featuring Accutronics spring reverb and 5 preamp tubes (the first is a 12AU7, to soften the gain).
