This is a metal-oriented distortion pedal from Tokai Gakki from the 1980s!
A Tokai version of the HM-2? It features a FREQUENCY control for variable peak frequency and a BRIGHT control for emphasizing high frequencies. As the name suggests, it can create distortion sounds suitable for classic hard rock of the late 1970s and early heavy metal of the 1980s. A distinctive feature of Tokai effects pedals is the gull-wing battery hatch.
