70s - Guild HB-1 matched Pair (lot021)

This is from the collection of a retired Luthier and has been deep in storage since being shipped to New Zealand in 1982 after being purchased in London in the 70s.

These came from a box with a number of NOS examples however there is some solder and wire on the terminals so its safe to assume these have been tested or briefly installed on an instrument some time in the last 50 years. Otherwise, they appear to be NOS.

This is a matched pair of glorious, vintage 70s Guild HB-1 Humbuckers. Perfect for restoring a vintage guild guitar, upgrading a newer model or really just any situation that calls for the most fantastic pickups you'll ever hear.
Often compared favourably to a vintage PAF, the HB-1 is typically described as a little brighter and more defined, with stronger mids and a tighter, punchier low end, while still maintaining the warmth, clarity and articulation expected from a quality vintage Humbucker.
These are the real deal, the sound fender and lollar have been trying to replicate for decades. These are slightly oversized and may require some routing (nothing more than a milimeter or two) to fit into a standard humbucker cavity.
I'm shipping these from New Zealand via DHL and have so far not had any issues sending to Canada or the United States. Import fees and tariffs for the U.S. do not apply as the pickups were made in the USA and will be declared as such. The cost of shipping is included in the price of the listing. If there are any issues with these pickups, I'm happy to sort out a return.
