SIMMONS SDS-8 - 5-Channel Drum Module.
The classic Simmons sound for a low price. Same basic setup as the famous SDS-V. Bass, Snare and 3 Toms.
This unit was used for a short time in the 80’s, replaced by technological progress in sampling, stored and then forgotten for a few decades. It still looks really good after four decades, except for minimal cosmetic damage. Even all of the knob caps are still there.
Now tested and all channels work A-OK except 2 rows of pots. A: the Filter pots all show the same fault: crackle caused by the shared circuitry, and B: a shared problem for the row of Click pots which don’t function, so not caused by the channels themselves. See Picture 4.
After 45 years of synth insanity I’m no longer spending time and effort on faulty gear, so this unit is sold as-is, for a reduced price, to someone needing this box more than I do.
