Behringer K-2 – Korg MS-20 Clone / Analog Semi-Modular Synthesizer

For sale is a first-generation Behringer K-2, virtually unused and without the original box.

The K-2 is Behringer’s analogue semi-modular take on the classic Korg MS-20. Its synthesis architecture closely follows that concept: two VCOs, ring modulation, resonant high-pass and low-pass filters, two envelope generators, a modulation generator, an External Signal Processor and an extensive patch panel.

The signal path is fully analogue and internally normalled, so the K-2 can be played immediately without patch cables. The patch panel allows the signal path to be expanded and rerouted. One particularly useful feature is the switch between Filter Type 1 and Filter Type 2.

The External Signal Processor also allows external audio signals to be incorporated into the synthesis architecture. MIDI, USB-MIDI and the compact desktop/Eurorack format make the K-2 easy to integrate into a modern studio or modular setup.
