Fryette Valvulator GP/DI

The Fryette Valvulator GPDI/IR is a professional-grade direct recording amplifier designed to deliver authentic tube amp tone in a compact and versatile format. Featuring an all-tube, one-watt amplifier, it provides the dynamics and response of a traditional tube amp, making it an ideal solution for recording, silent practice, and live performance. It can be used with a speaker cabinet, headphones, a mixing console, or even integrated into an existing amp rig, ensuring seamless operation in any setup.

The GPDI/IR offers two integrated cabinet simulation options for maximum flexibility. The built-in digital IR loader includes memory for 16 cabinet impulse responses, with 8 preloaded Fryette cabinets and the ability to add custom IRs via the front-panel USB port. Additionally, the tunable all-analog cabinet filter delivers zero-latency response and expansive dynamic range. Users can engage either option individually, combine them for added tonal shaping, or bypass them entirely to use external IRs.

For professional recording applications, the GPDI/IR includes a Unity Gain Direct Out, allowing players to capture a clean, unprocessed guitar signal for later reamping. The rear-panel Reamp Input enables seamless reprocessing of recorded tracks without the need for additional accessories. These features make the GPDI/IR a powerful tool for studio musicians who want flexibility and precision in their recordings.

The External Amp Mode expands the unit's functionality by integrating it into any amp with an effects loop, effectively adding the GPDI's clean and overdrive channels to an existing rig. Remote switching via an external footswitch allows for easy transition between normal and external modes. Additionally, the built-in effects loop supports external effects between the GPDI/IR's tube preamp and power amp or integration with modelers and the Synergy Modular System.

With its one-watt tube power amp, the GPDI/IR can drive 4, 8, or 16-ohm speaker cabinets, making it possible to mic a cab at low volumes for studio-quality tracking. The refined Sag control enhances dynamics, sustain, and touch sensitivity, providing a natural playing feel that modelers and standalone preamps cannot replicate.
