This is the early V1 version of the RISE – the one that has become particularly sought after since the later versions were introduced.

The RISE is King Tone’s take on the classic germanium treble booster, but it goes considerably further than a traditional Rangemaster-style circuit. Depending on the settings, it works as a clean boost, preamp, overdrive or full-on fuzz, with a huge amount of output available for pushing a tube amp.

The Clean control is particularly useful, taking the pedal from thick, saturated germanium tones through overdrive and into bright, glassy clean boost sounds. Combined with the cut/boost Tone control and the three-way Full/Fat, Vintage and Overdrive voicing switch, there is a surprisingly wide range available from a relatively simple circuit.

The original V1 has developed a bit of a cult following and has become increasingly difficult to find, particularly in this condition.
