About this listing
The Suhr James Norbert Ivanyi Signature Modern in Russet Brown is a distinctive, performance-driven instrument designed around the demanding playing style and musical vision of James Norbert Ivanyi. This right-handed Modern Antique model features a two-piece Alder body with ergonomic Arm, Hand, and Tummy contours for a natural and comfortable playing experience. The body is finished in Russet Brown with a Lacquer finish and Medium Aging, giving the guitar an authentically worn-in character and sophisticated visual depth. A recessed Suhr 2-Post bridge with Bent Saddles and Steel Block provides a responsive tremolo platform, while the Black hardware, rear routing, and satin cavity covers maintain its sleek, understated aesthetic. At 7 lbs 1 oz, it offers a substantial yet well-balanced feel.
The Roasted Maple neck features a smooth Satin finish and a Modern Elliptical profile measuring .800" to .850", providing a fast and comfortable feel throughout the neck. An Ebony fingerboard features a 10" to 14" radius with Standard Roll, 24 Stainless Steel Jumbo frets, and Aged Clay face and side dots for a subtle vintage-inspired touch. The 1.650" Black Tusq nut provides a precise foundation, while the Original headstock is finished in matching Russet Brown with Lacquer and carries a Gold Fill, Black Outline decal logo and James Ivanyi Signature engraving. Suhr Locking Black tuning gears complete the neck with reliable tuning stability.
The electronics are built around a powerful SSV neck humbucker and SSH Plus bridge humbucker, both finished in Black, delivering a broad range of articulate, high-output tones. A Black 3-Way Blade selector provides straightforward pickup selection, while the Volume control keeps the interface direct and performance-focused. A Push-Pull control splits both humbuckers for additional tonal flexibility, while the Mini Push Button Preset Blower Switch provides an immediate tonal boost and direct signal path when needed. The guitar is set up with .009-.046 strings in standard E tuning, making it equally capable of expressive cleans, articulate rhythm work, and aggressive high-gain playing.
With its aged Russet Brown finish, Roasted Maple neck, Ebony fingerboard, stainless steel Jumbo frets, and carefully tailored electronics, the James Norbert Ivanyi Signature Modern is a guitar built for players who demand speed, versatility, and precision. The combination of ergonomic body contours, Modern Elliptical neck profile, recessed tremolo, split-capable humbuckers, and Blower Switch gives the instrument a highly responsive and adaptable voice. Supplied with its Softshell Case, this Suhr Signature Modern embodies a refined balance of individuality, modern performance, and the distinctive character of the James Norbert Ivanyi design.
