About this listing
A 2005 Historic Collection 1957 Les Paul Custom has arrived! The Les Paul Custom, also known as the "Black Beauty." Designed to complement a tuxedo, its jet-black body is adorned with multi-layer binding and gold hardware, combining a sense of luxury with rugged cool?making it the object of desire for many guitarists. This '57-spec model features an all-mahogany body, a mahogany neck with a rounded grip, and an ebony fingerboard. Compared to models with a maple top, it produces a sweet, mellow tone when played clean and a rich, full-bodied sound when distorted. It is equipped with a Burst Bucker #1 pickup in the front and a Burst Bucker #2 in the rear, producing a warm, harmonically rich drive tone. While Custom models are often treated roughly, this one has a history of neck break repair; the area near the repair has been repainted on the back of the neck up to around the 4th fret. It appears the top coat has also been relacquered. Additionally, there are cracks and unevenness caused by paint shrinkage near the junction with the binding on the side of the neck. In addition to stand marks on the body end, there are minor scratches and dents throughout the guitar consistent with its age. However, it has been cleaned, fully adjusted, and had its frets leveled since arrival, so it is ready for use without any issues. The certificate of authenticity is missing.
