ESP LTD TA-204 FRX Bass in Black Satin
The TA-204 FRX is Tom Araya's signature bass, engineered for aggressive, articulate low-end performance in dense, high-intensity mix scenarios. Built around a 35" extended scale and thin U-contour neck, this instrument rewards precision and sustain while maintaining the speed and playability demanded by modern metal and extreme music. The black satin finish and pentagram inlays signal an uncompromising aesthetic matched only by its sonic character.
Tone & Electronics
ESP Designed SB-4 pickups (SB-4N neck / SB-4B bridge) paired with passive Volume/Balance/Tone controls deliver focused, articulate low end without digital interference or coloration. The LTD BB-604 bridge with black hardware ensures solid intonation and efficient tonal transfer through the lightweight basswood bolt-on construction, providing the direct, unfiltered response required for aggressive playing styles.
Playability & Construction
The thin U-contour maple neck with 24 extra-jumbo frets and 400mm fingerboard radius enables rapid position shifts across the entire extended scale without fatigue, while the roasted jatoba fingerboard provides dimensional stability and a modern feel. A 40mm molded nut width and bolt-on basswood body deliver straightforward mechanical performance with zero compromise on intonation or sustain.
