Vintage Bach Stradivarius 180S37 Silver Trumpet--Serviced, Extras!

One of several professional trumpets we are offering for sale. This is a Bach Stradivarius 180S37 silver trumpet in Bb.  S/n 111XXX makes it roughly 1977, though there is a little gap in the serial lists there so it’s hard to nail down the exact year. It is in very good condition:  silver plate about 95% with some wear mostly around the contact points as seen in the photos, but most of that is covered by the included, brand-new ProTec six-point leather valve protector. Very small marks and imperfections left over from past dent removals throughout its life, but no current significant dents. Valves are fast and smooth and quiet, though I will note that the first valve tuning slide moves in and out easily, so the first valve may not be holding compression as well as the others—perhaps due to being lapped or burnished sometime in the past. All tuning slides are free including the third valve dump slide, which is so often stuck that many folks don’t even know it’s supposed to move. Just through the shop where it was chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, polished and had all new tuning slide O-rings, piston felts, water key cork and stop rod bumper installed. Plays very nicely with an open feel and very good slotting. Note that this is oiled with SYNTHETIC oil and that you should use the same or thoroughly clean the pistons and valve casings prior to switching to a petroleum-based oil. UltraPure valve oil and Selmer slide grease are for local pickup only and won’t be shipped, but it does include a bunch of extras:  K&M in-bell stand, new ProTec microfiber cloth, new Pro-Tec six-point leather valve guard, Humes & Berg Wow-Wow Mute, Leblanc Alessi Vacchiano staight mute, and 5C and 7C mouthpieces.  All in the oversized, lightweight ProTec case with lots of extra room for music and accessories.
