It detects the instrument signal and the noise from effects pedals connected between the send and return jacks separately, suppressing noise regardless of whether each effect pedal is ON or OFF. The pedal switch can function as a mute switch in addition to switching between normal and noise reduction modes. Using an AC adapter and parallel cable, it becomes a valuable power source for vintage BOSS compact effects pedals that require ACA power.
