Our GSL5 leather link strap has been made in the UK since the early 1980s, the most high-profile user being Jimmy Page, who has been using his since 1985.
The strap is made from split leather about 2mm thick and this one is made of a mixture of light blue, dark blue and black links with black shoulder pad and ends. It's not a standard colour/finish, hence we are selling it here rather than through our usual trade channels. It has a double width chain link design, which incorporates a kind of in-built suspension, ideal for heavy instruments. The links can be removed to make the strap shorter, or can be moved around to reposition the shoulder pad. There are 14 links on one end and 10 on the other.
This strap measures 145cm/57" from hole to hole, although it will give under the weight of the guitar, so the length in use is slightly longer.
There are 24 individual links, each 7cm/2.75" wide
The shoulder pad measures 30cm/12" long x 8cm/3.1" wide
The end pieces are around 14cm/5.25" long.
The end pieces are attached to the main part of the strap using two 2-part brass poppers on each end - poppers have some wear from storage.
