Up for sale, a 1976 Greco EG1000 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This high end Greco EG model was produced at the Fujigen factory in Japan and does an excellent job of capturing the finer points of a Gibson Les Paul Custom, with a fast-feeling neck profile carve, genuine ebony fingerboard, and Maxon-made U-3000 humbuckers. The EG1000 was also one of the highest grade Greco LP models of the era, with an original sticker price of 100,000 yen.

A direct response to the ‘70s era Les Paul Custom, this model features a carved two-piece maple top, mahogany body, and a three-piece maple neck. This Greco has plenty of natural sustain and punch, providing an ideal platform for the Maxon U-3000 humbuckers. A highly sought-after Maxon pickup, the U-3000s are one of the highest grade humbuckers offered on any Greco of their era, featuring Alnico 8 magnets with a response akin to a PAF. The bridge pickup has strong chirp and honk, with a touch-sensitive feel and midrange growl, while the neck pickup is particularly fat and velvety. This EG1000 weighs 10lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
