A fine Italian Labeled violin attributed to Oreste Candi labeled:
NO.124(hand written)
ORESTE CANDI
Fece in Genova
l'anno 1930(8)?

A lovely instrument with a clear robust tone suitable for soloists or any musician looking for a big open sound it's attributed to the makers work but not confirmed, never the less it has been meticulously restored with new pegs; tailpiece, chin rest in the Guarneri style, new nut, saddle, tail-guy and re-plained fingerboard of ebony and rosewood fittings.
Newly cut Spruce French Aubert bridge to the meticulous precision of a fine master instrument light weight and optimal tonal production over a new set of Larson's 'Il Cannone Soloist with Warm and Broad 'A'.' String set.
The top is a slab of two pice Italian alpine spruce and the back is a two pice quarter cut maple of high to medium figure, Slight ware on the varnish golden-amber with light golden huge on the undertone with a delicately carved scroll.
Projects very nicely and comes without case.
