Description
Vintage H.S. Anderson Bask Bass II from 1977, made in Japan during the golden era of Japanese guitar manufacturing.
H.S. Anderson was a house brand of Moridaira, part of the late-1970s Japanese manufacturing boom — a period known for high-quality craftsmanship and increasingly sought-after instruments. The brand is also associated with the iconic Madcat model used by Prince in his early career.
This is a classic Precision-style bass with a strong vintage character, both visually and sonically. Instruments from this period are becoming increasingly difficult to source, particularly within Europe.
A straightforward, no-nonsense vintage P-style bass — resonant, balanced, and built in an era when consistency and feel mattered more than marketing.
The bass shows honest wear consistent with its age, adding to its authenticity and appeal. Structurally, it remains solid, stable, and fully functional.
