This is a 1939 Los Angeles Olds Super Cornet  that is in good playing condition.  It has a few cosmetic flaws, but the valves are in good condition, to this is a vintage cornet that is a great player.   The mouthpiece receiver has been changed (looks like an Ambassador cornet receiver) so it will accept modern shank cornet mouthpieces, so you don't have the issue of being limited on mouthpiece selection.

It has a patch on the inside of the bell crook and another on the second valve slide.

The cornet has a few minor dents and some areas of lacquer loss, but is in very good overall condition and the valve compression is very good.  This cornet needs nothing to be played again immediately.

The Super model cornet was introduced in late 1937, so this cornet is in the original style before Olds began making modifications.   More about early Super cornets can be found as our updated article:

Engraving is sharp and clear.  Matching serial numbers on the valve spring barrels, valve stems and top caps.

Although the Olds literature does not mention it, some early Super models have bells with higher copper content and this cornet is one of those.

Comes with a Getzen cornet case.
