1920's Rolando Banjo Uke.

This uke still have the original calf skin head, but it was signed by classmates at high school graduation. Needs new strings and a set up.

Rolando banjo ukuleles are vintage instruments from the 1910s-1920s, produced for the Southern California Music Company. They typically feature a ~7-inch wooden pot (often burled redwood or maple), a 13-inch scale length, and a distinct "plunky" or sweet, mellow, and punchy sound. 

Key Information & Characteristics:

• Origin: Produced in California, often considered a "California style" banjolele from the early 20th century.
• Construction: Known for wooden construction, often featuring a small, thick rim and a resonator back, sometimes with f-holes.
• Features: Frequently equipped with bakelite tuning pegs and a unique bracketless tensioning system.
• Condition: Many surviving models may have original skin heads that require careful handling or replacement.
