Fender Stratocaster (Standard) Candy Apple Red - 2011

This Strat is a no nonsense, stripped back rock and roll machine. Originally a standard 3 pickup Stratocaster, this standard alder body guitar has been customised - eliminating the front pickup, middle pickup, pickup selector and tone controls and all sealed up in a replacement three ply pickguard. The guitar sports a single DiMarzio Fast Track 1 pickup in the bridge.

This guitar has seen its fair share of international travel and sports a couple of battle scars, particularly in the upper cutaway near the neck pocket, and on the lower side near the output jack. Aside from this and some surface marks, the guitar is structurally and functionally without issues. Fretwear is minimal. The neck is a comfy slim/medium C feel, with slight relief and 2mm action at the 12th fret.

Sonically, this instrument packs a punch. The single DiMarzio Fast Track 1 in the bridge position is directly wired to the output jack, eliminating any tone roll off that can be had from the conventional circuit. What results in a very clear and loud projection with no hum, thanks to its dual rail hum bucking design. Great for high gain, while also retaining the classic Fender single coil fidelity.

This stripped back instrument weighs in at 3.6kg. There is light rust and pitting on the chrome tuning ferrules as well as on the stamped Fender bridge saddles. Apart from the pickup and control delete on this instrument, it is otherwise stock.
