The Story...
The Gibson Original collection was the first project the new owners of Gibson took on to "turn the company back around" and what a magnificent move it was! These are seen by many as the best guitars that Gibson has produced in a long time and praised for how they brought clarity to a once jumbled and confusing lineup. Even though I'm a used guitar dealer - even I find it hard to NOT suggest the new Les Paul Standards over other time-tested and true "cult-classic" used models - they are just that good.

There is no denying that the Original Collection was a major part of Gibson history... today I have to offer to you a near-COMPLETE collection of Gibson Original Prototypes for the Original Collection. This set features one of every color + variation offer offered at launch in 2019. The only one that is missing is the Sideways Vibrola SG and that is due to Gibson not offering that prototype for sale (yet.) The Firebirds, Explorers and Vs didn't change at the start of this new line up and the ES style guitars were added to it later. It is not certain that prototypes of those instruments exist - only time will tell!

This lot includes 14 investment quality stamped-prototype guitars handpicked by me from the shortly-lived prototype offerings by Gibson. Each of them comes with a Gibson Hardshell case with all the paperwork and case candy as originally sent out. Some of these instruments show light wear and tear from being handled as well as pin-sized dings here or there, but I carefully chose the cleanest and nicest examples they had to offer to form this collection.

Les Paul Special TV Yellow. Has a small finish check by the nut, non-structural. 7lbs 11oz
Les Paul Standard 50s P90 Goldtop - Has excellent wood figuring in the neck 9lbs 5oz
Les Paul Standard 50s Tobacco Sunburst - Has some light dings on the back. Nice top 8lbs 15oz
Les Paul Standard 50s Gold Top - Really nicely figured back - 9lbs 8oz
Les Paul Standard 50s Cherry Sunburst - Decent top, average wood grain but a great weight! 8lbs 12oz
Les Paul Standard 60s Unburst - Nice top, but not the nicest finish 9lbs 6oz 
Les Paul Standard 60s Iced Tea - Top 3 - CRAZY top - awesome on the back. The Star. 9lbs 12oz
Les Paul Standard 60s Bourbon Burst - Top 3 - Excellent Color + Top. Lovely figuring in neck. 9lbs 14oz

SG Junior - Has a cool "eye" in the wood where your armrests. 5lbs 14oz
SG Special Pelham Blue - Nice color, but nothing notable. Prototype stamp "cracked" the finish 6lbs 8oz
SG Special Sparkling Burgundy - Top 3 - awesome finish with excellent red streaks in fretboard 6lbs 5oz
                                                                     There was only one prototype in this finish sold.
'61 SG Stopbar - Wood figuring isn't special, but it is light-weight.  6lbs 2oz
'61 SG Maestro Vibrola - Nice wood grain in body and cool figuring in neck. 7lbs

I would prefer to sell these as a complete set as they are more valuable and historic together than they are apart! There was only one complete set able to be pieced together if you had to have every color variation.
