The digi-max 32 Friend-Chip (also known as the DMX 32) is a modular digital routing matrix and patchbay designed to manage, route, and convert digital audio signals within recording studios or broadcast installations.
It allows you to independently route up to 32 inputs to 32 digital outputs.
Signal Splitting: A single input signal can be sent to multiple outputs simultaneously (for example, to send the same audio stream to multiple recorders or converters).
Asynchronous Operation: Signals with different sampling rates can pass through the matrix at the same time without interfering with one another.
Thanks to its internal architecture and interchangeable modules on the rear panel, the unit performs real-time conversions between different digital audio standards.
