Up for sale is a legendary piece of West German drum engineering — a 1980s Sonor Performer 16" x 16" Floor Tom in the highly sought-after and rare Hi-Tech Grey finish. ✔️
For Sonor players and vintage collectors, the first-generation Performer series needs no introduction. Built in West Germany, these drums feature premium 6-ply, 7mm German Beechwood shells with rounded bearing edges, delivering that massive, deep, and focused punch Sonor is famous for. ✔️

Rare Hi-Tech Grey Finish: While most Performers from this era were wrapped in standard glossy black or white, the matte/textured "Hi-Tech Grey" (HT code) was produced in limited numbers and has a fantastic retro-industrial aesthetic. ✔️
100% German Beechwood: Genuine vintage German shell, not to be confused with later poplars. ✔️
Iconic Hardware: Features the classic vertical Sonor Phonic lugs and the original "Performer" mallet badge. ✔️
Condition & Details:
Shell & Bearing Edges: The beechwood shell is structurally perfect, round, and the bearing edges are clean. Sounds incredible. ✔️
Cosmetics: The rare Hi-Tech Grey wrap shows some honest player wear, including minor surface scuffs and scratches (please see pictures), which is very typical for this specific matte finish. Chrome hardware is in good vintage shape with few scratches and dents. ✔️
