[Features]
The Philip Farkas Model is the full double French horn that represents America's storied Holton company. Developed in 1958 under the full supervision of the great horn player Philip Farkas, it has long been cherished as a symbol of the American horn sound.
This H279R uses nickel silver for the bell, body, and mouthpipe in a large-throat configuration. It combines clear articulation and quick response with a sound that carries real weight and scale - powerful when pushed hard, and richly resonant filling the hall when played softly.
Many will hear echoes of postwar American major orchestras and their classic horn sections in this tone. The brightness, thickness, and warmth of this distinctive character, heard less often these days, is something only this instrument can truly deliver.
A horn that lets you fully enjoy the classic American horn sound - a true representative of Holton's golden era.
