This is the Yanagisawa S-800 Erimona.
I think the S6 key layout combined with its Mark VI-style appearance gives it a sense of elegance.
The body is on the thicker side, giving it a different character than the S6, and itfs also somewhat heavier.
Its rich, mellow tone is impressive, and while intonation relies more on the playerfs skill compared to current models, I think this is well within acceptable limits for those accustomed to playing vintage soprano saxophones.
The unique charm of the tone from this era is truly captivating.
There is a repair mark on the indentation below the thumb hook on the body.
Otherwise, the instrument is in a practical condition showing significant signs of use, such as scratches, lacquer peeling, discoloration, and rust; however, one worn pad has been replaced with a new one, and the instrument has been thoroughly adjusted, so you can enjoy playing it right away.
