I am offering a Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom Heritage Cherry Sunburst from 1984, a manufactured in Nashville, Tennessee (USA), vintage luxury version of the Gibson Les Paul with slim mahogany body (without weight relief, weighing only 3.72kg in total!), 3-piece maple top, set-in mahogany neck with slim “C”-shaped neck profile and 42.9mm nut width, bound rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays, two legendary Gibson Tim Shaw “Pat No.” humbucker pickups, high-quality Gibson Deluxe Vintage Keystone gold tuners and Gibson ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece in authentically aged Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitrocellulose high-gloss finish with multi-ply white bindings and black pickguard in excellent collector's condition, including original Gibson Chainsaw hardshell case and professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings.
This Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom, manufactured only between 1983 and 1986 at the Gibson Nashville factory, is the visually slightly reduced studio version of the Gibson Les Paul Custom. With its slimmer mahogany body, the guitar weighs only 3.72kg, but nevertheless delivers the particularly creamy sustain, powerful punch, and great sonority typical of the early Custom models in its classic solid wood construction without any weight reduction.
At its heart, of course, are the two original PAF humbuckers developed by Tim Shaw, which represent Gibson's first (and arguably most successful) attempt to revive the magic of its late 1950s humbucker design. These Shaws have a melodic, singing quality with complex, rich overtones and extremely dynamic sound characteristics. Great growl and clarity at the bridge, a balanced and detailed middle position, and a warm and full neck pickup ensure a lively and versatile sound.
The rather slim “C” neck profile, tending towards '60s SlimTaper, fits nicely in the hand and, together with the 42.9 mm wide nut and 628 mm scale length, results in excellent playability.
Visually, the plain maple grain of the top is beautifully accentuated by the semi-transparent Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish, complemented by shiny gold hardware and multi-ply white bindings to create a harmonious overall look.

Since the Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom was only built in limited numbers for a short period of time, it is now extremely rare—and virtually impossible to find in the HCS finish.
This Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom is in excellent, completely unmodified collector's condition and technically flawless. Visually, there is only occasional age-related minor wear, which integrates nicely into the vintage patine of the instrument (see pictures). The frets are almost flawless.
The instrument has been professionally set up with 10-46 Elixir Optiweb strings, and I (a long-time guitar teacher) will ship it insured with DHL for €49.99 within Germany or 99.99€ within the EU. Worldwide shipping possible - individual shipping quotes on request.
All pictures shown are of the actual instrument for sale.
