Gretsch Noir '55 Penguin Custom Shop Masterbuilt Chad Duo Jet Black

hello, for sale or trade 2024 masterbuilt chad h custom shop gretsch noir '55 penguin. guitar itself is the best playing gretsch i've ever played. the recorded sound is singular and unreal. here we have a level of silky smooth i haven't seen even in 20k hand made guitars with exotic woods. the finishing on this guitar is utterly next level, it's beyond words, you'll have to feel for yourself.

over the past 25 years i've been spoiled to death with countless rare custom old wood hand made guitars. none made with this attention to detail. it's something you notice instantly. certainly none of the stephen stern guitars i've had were this flawless. just not even the same ballpark. the noir penguin is a real bespoke instrument, all custom blacked out parts. i think it's the single best looking guitar on earth. equal wow factor with looks and performance. it's a very rare color that doesn't capture in pics, this is an extremely dark black, stunning beyond belief. it has the rare black sparkle binding. the parts are anodized charcoal and blacked out, which contrasts against the deep dark black paint. the rare black sparkle binding (with its white line) completely puts it over the top. it's almost impossible to find a stealth penguin w/out all the obnoxious flashy bright sparkle.

guitar was built and aged in a way that is to me astonishing. it's an inspiring instrument to play, took 3 years to make and was $12,000 to original buyer. loads of custom gretsch parts, anodized tru arc bridge and black brass G. there's an indescribable feel happening here. a high level of comfort and silkiness, like the easiest fastest playing guitar ever. guitar feels and sounds like no other. not picked up often, out of respect, but when i do it's always a wow experience. i've never once put this guitar down and not said "damn". it's going to boil down to wood choice and craftsmanship. utterly perfect in every way. and then the sound delivery! wow. probably the most frequency response i've ever heard. it's up there. single coil magic. these are (unpotted) custom shop seymour dynasonics, same pickups used in the signature billy zoom guitar. custom filtertrons in black, using these covers, are always an option, as is a powder coated black bigsby B3. there are various other pickup options if you wish, which can be used with these covers. it's great to have these options. trust me when i say this is one incredibly special, over the top. i've had so many of these gretsch custom shop guitars in my hands, i was at namm all weekend the first time gretsch debuted the custom shop and will never forget it. this guitar is utterly bespoke and singular, top shelve sonically with lightning fast gretsch playability, scary fast ebony.

includes original case (one tiny scratch), and original case paperwork, etc. 12" radius with a nut cut perfectly. perfect neck, nut, bridge, etc. the frets are extremely well defined, and shaped, at the highest possible level. i could only dream of having these frets on all my guitars. it's a such a joy simply tuning this guitar, it's not just incredibly stable, it's also got the highest level of smooth tunability. why isn't every guitar like this? makes you wonder. if only every guitar were like this. i was recently in northern ca in a famous home and played all these crazy rare, hand made, expensive-as-hell guitars. not one of them held a candle to this thing. they were all a bunch of unplayable expensive baseball cards. this thing is dying to be played. the wood selection, whatever it is, was brilliant.

completely unbelievable acoustic sonic resonance, this guitar is truly as good as they come in every way. it simply has a feel, look, sound and performance all its own. it's all next level. seymours are some of the most pleasurable single coils i've ever heard. it's a new level of satisfaction whilst playing this here noir. black butter in all its glory. i've never seen something so beautiful with 6 strings. will be overpacked and insured.
