Teisco Audition 1960s Closet Classic near mint time warp condition - Dark Red burst

This was obtained during a clearance of his parents house.

I guess this is what we call a closet classic or an under bed classic, this has basically to the best of our knowledge sat in a wardrobe for 50 years.

Research tells us that it is an Audition by Teisco made in Japan sometime mid to late 1960s

It really is in exceptional condition aside for a very small chip on one of the horns, some shrinkage of the pickguards, with a very small section by one of the screws having broken off, there is also a very light separation crack at the rear of the headstock, which incidentally has not detached and remains pretty solid.

The original brochure, manual or whatever you want to call it is attached to the bottom E machine head, you will see this was originally sold by the long defunct Woolworth company, so there is also some Great British retail history right there.

I have no idea of how these were back in the 60s or how they stacked up and compared to all of the other manufacturers, what I do know though is if this were a Fender from the same era in this condition then this would represent a fairly hefty pension, but its Not.....

Anyways in all seriousness it really has remained in fine condition, so if these are your thing I doubt you will ever find a better one.
