This is a very rare guitar in outstanding condition, very well maintained for an almost 60 year old guitar. Artur Lang was considered one of the finest German Luthiers and built between 600/800 guitars in his lifetime, approximately 6 or 7 different models with the Deluxe being his top model with the engraved headstock cover. Artur used the binding reinforced sides to increase side stiffness. Artur also bought his top spruce lumber from a very special source. A German Church in Munich was bombed and destroyed during WWII. The Church was built from 1480 to 1489 using roof support spruce timbers that were planted in the 11th & 12th centuries. A violin lumber supply company purchased that spruce and sold it to Artur. So, his good tops are around a thousand years old and have such a sweet sound.
This Deluxe has the added feature of 60’s Schaller electronics which add their own unique tone quality. I found this guitar in Germany and it’s my top Deluxe of the 3 that I own. I’m testing the market in the US for these guitars. It comes with the original green lined luthier’s hard shell case. This is definitely a museum piece considering condition and rarely but it’s also a very stron player with a medium, very comfortable neck and just lovely tone. Like all of my guitars, it’s maintained at 45% humidity and 70 degrees. No cracks, breaks, or repairs. It does have an extra output jack wired for a D’Armond pickup.
