The Belle Starr is the result of months of collaboration with Drew Shirley from the band Switchfoot, who always plays on very small amps at very low power and plays them hard to get that clean sound. The Belle Starr was designed to recreate this particular sound. It's not a high gain overdrive, the Belle Starr is a low/moderate gain overdrive that has the same smooth and natural characteristics found in small amps. To make this overdrive as natural and amp-like as possible, Jackson Audio incorporated a unique clipping circuit (the part of the circuit that saturates the signal) with Mosfet transistors instead of traditional silicon diodes. The Belle Starr's overdrive spectrum is so well distributed that the Gain setting ranges from absolutely clear to moderate gain without any unusual bumps in the dynamic response.The Belle Starr can be powered from 9 to 18 Volts DC for more dynamics, but never more than 18 Volts!Settings- VolumeSets the overall level of the Belle Starr. With a low Gain and a high Volume setting, the Belle Starr acts as a powerful boost with 2 settings for tone.- GainControls the gain of your sound and the saturation of the Belle Starr. With the Gain low and the other settings in the middle, the resulting boost is transparent and identical to the original sound. By increasing the Gain, you add a subtle overdrive to get a perfect simulation of a small amp pushed hard! - BodyA very powerful active EQ, the Body control adjusts the low frequencies by ±15dB.- ToneA carefully calibrated passive control, it adjusts the high frequencies like the Cut control of a Vox amp.
