A model from the Inspired by Gibson collection, the Epiphone SG Standard has been updated to be more beautiful than ever. The legendary SG™ has long been a favorite among musicians of all genres. From Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Eric Clapton, and George Harrison to Robbie Krieger, Angus Young, Tony Iommi, and countless other legends, the SG has been played by many of history's most beloved guitarists.
The Epiphone SG Standard features a contoured double-cutaway mahogany body, offering easy access to all 22 frets. The set-in mahogany neck further enhances the instrument's renowned sustain. The neck features a SlimTaper™ "C" profile for fast playing and is equipped with a bound rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and pearloid trapezoid inlays. The 12" fingerboard radius makes it easy to play first-position chords and allows for string bends without the string "bumping" into the fret. High-quality Grover® Rotomatic® tuners and a Graph Tech™ nut, paired with a fully adjustable Epiphone LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge with stopbar tailpiece, work together to ensure rock-solid intonation and tuning.
The Epiphone SG Standard is equipped with a pair of Epiphone's acclaimed ProBucker™ humbuckers, delivering all the vintage-soul SG tone you could want. A ProBucker™ 2 humbucker sits in the neck position, while a slightly hotter ProBucker 3 sits in the bridge position. Each pickup is wired with individual volume and tone controls, along with a three-way toggle switch, allowing you to use each pickup alone or in combination. Mix and match according to your mood and inspiration. The Epiphone SG Standard is made to turn heads and will impress musicians and their fans. It comes with a premium gig bag that offers ideal protection when storing or transporting the instrument.
