Well, this is something that will warm the heart of many a guitar enthusiast, mine included!
Herewith a Takamine TF430SS “Singer Songwriter” edition. Despite the guitar dating back to 2008, this particular specimen is in absolute MINT CONDITION. By the way, they were only available for two years in a limited production run.
The guitar features high-end specs that you only find on Takamine's flagship models, think of: Fully solid construction, ebony fretboard, cooltube preamp with built-in tuner, neck binding, "inspiration" text on the porcelain on the back, and a unique sunburst finish.
The size is very comfortable; I am personally a big fan of the Grand Auditorium size, perfect for singer-songwriters! It's a pity that Takamine doesn't have such a wide selection in this size!
Solid cedar top, solid Ovangkol back & sides. Intimate, full tone, plenty of bass—somewhat comparable to mahogany—and tons of volume!
Sounds amazing plugged in too, but that was to be expected from Takamine’s “cooltube” system.
The neck is very comfortable, by the way; it's a fast neck like we are used to from Takamine, though the binding adds just that little bit extra. Whether it's just a premium feel or an actual enhancement, I haven't quite decided yet ;).
The guitar has been nicely set up with low action, strung with Elixir .012s. It has 100% fret height with zero wear and comes with the original case including case candy!
In short, a great guitar for the collector or to steal the show on stage—this specimen is perfect for both!
