1980 Fender Precision

This 1980 Fender Precision Bass is finished in Natural with a black scratch plate, a classic late-’70s/early-’80s combination that has become increasingly desirable amongst players and collectors alike. Featuring the split-coil Precision pickup, this bass delivers the powerful, punchy and unmistakable tone that has made the P-Bass a studio and stage staple for decades.

This 1980 example is all original and remains in fantastic condition, showing only light signs of use for an instrument now over 46 years old. A wonderfully preserved bass with plenty of character and an excellent playing feel. Serial number looks like 1979, but the pots confirm the bass was manufactured in 1980. There is signs that the bass did have another bridge cover fitted at some point - you can see a slightly different colour in the finish next the bridge cover and a small dowel where screw hole has been filled (see last picture).

Weight is 4.6 kg (because someone always asks.....) The bass comes complete with a period hard case and the original Fender hang tag.
