The Acapulco Gold is a super-simple distortion device, modeled after a vintage Model T amplifier, offering the openness, clarity, and crunch that only a dimmed tube amp can provide, at a fraction of the size and without expensive maintenance costs!

Because tone is in your hands, we decided to keep the Acapulco Gold's controls as simple as possible. The footswitch turns the pedal on and off, while the giant knob controls the output volume. That's it. The rest is yours to use. Want less gain? Turn down your guitar's volume knob. Want a darker rhythm tone? Turn down your guitar's tone control. Easy, right?

Large Knob: The large knob sets the output level, sometimes known as volume. WARNING: The Acapulco Gold site is extremely loud!

At full guitar volume, the Acapulco Gold roars like a wide-open Model T on the verge of exploding. At even the slightest reduction, the Gold transforms into a raging overdrive. At minimum guitar volume, the Acapulco Gold adds a hazy, Nashville-esque sound to your tone.

How about this? If your guitar has separate volume and tone controls for each pickup and a three-way selector switch, this little one-knob instrument becomes a three-channel tone monster with a flick of the wrist!

Switching

This device is true bypass and uses relay-based electronic switching. Audio will not pass without power.

Power Supply

This device uses a standard 9-volt DC power supply with a 2.1 mm center negative barrel. We always recommend transformer-isolated wall power supplies specifically designed for pedals or power supplies with multiple isolated outputs. Pedals will produce additional noise if there is ripple or dirty power. Switching power supplies, daisy-chaining, and non-pedal-specific power supplies do not filter dirty power well and allow unwanted noise to pass through. DO NOT OPERATE AT HIGHER VOLTAGES.
