A lovely instrument possibly copy of fine materials newly set up with a Aubert France bridge over a newly strung set of Larsen 'Il Cannone Soloist with a Warm And Broad A'
The varnish is a vibrant reddish-gold over a yellow-gold under huge.
Fittings are of light weight rosewood newly fitted heart shaped french pegs and Guarneri chin-rest with new button and tail piece with a black titanium 'e' fine tuner with a parchment on the 'e' for extra protection. Fine tuner can be adapted for ball or loop end.
Warm booming tone as are the Guarneri Copies suitable for soloist; mariachi performers, folk performers, and orchestral/chamber musicians.
The top is a fine grained spruce exceptionally book matched.
The back is a lovely two piece quarter cut maple with high to medium flame with matching sides, neck and scroll of similar timbers. Slight antiqued on the back and upper bouts where the instrument has been touched over time.
No broken seams or cracks repaired neither bass bar or sound post.
Authenticity hasn't been looked at by a luthier but nevertheless plays exceptionally well and would make an exceptional instrument for any musician. Sold as is and please examine pictures closely a fine copy especially of a Guarneri Del Gesu not sure which pattern, the purffling is done in a very elegant style and is set up to last a long time.
