Tempered violin Germany around 1800.

It has a spruce top, maple sides and mahogany back, carved like the top (you can see the color through the "f" and in some places where the varnish has lost).

It is a unique instrument with a tempered fingerboard with bronze bars, it looks like a hybrid between a zither and a violin.

Its dimensions are standard for a 4/4 violin.

It has a mechanical tuning machine covered by an engraved silver plate.

It is a fun instrument, with the same scale as violins and mandolins, its construction was of quality, although it seems to have undergone several repairs and modifications. It has no cracks in the top or the back. Its varnish is black, very fine.

It has two holes on the back and another on the head at the back, which are to place pieces of wood and play it horizontally supported on a table.

The instrument and the parts, tuners, etc., work well.

Includes a custom synthetic leather case. It does not have a bow.

How many of us as beginners have ever dreamed of a fretted violin?
