A model that is not often associated with Martin is the Jumbo. These Martin Jumbo guitars are truly phenomenal with a powerful, rich and impressive sound and that typical Martin warmth that you won't find anywhere else.
The Martin jumbo is relatively new compared to other models of the brand. The Martin Standard series J40M jumbo was introduced in 1985 alongside a cutaway version; the J40MC. This 1989 J40 celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Martin Custom Shop, and the interior label is signed by C.F. Martin IV.
The J40 is made from rosewood back and sides, a spruce top and a mahogany neck. It produces a tone beautifully balanced with powerful response and projection, bringing out the artistry of the singer-songwriter and session player.
After more than thirty years, it has of course earned some playwear and dings, but it also still looks very clean. Some maintenance has been done on the binding at the waist of the body, and the pickguard and the tuning machines have been replaced. Nevertheless, it is still in very good condition and has a great playability.
Includes a hardshell case with TFOA passport.
