The buttons on these true replica tuning machines have no green color, as is common. They are also not yellow or overly clear, as is typical. These are a mostly opaque, semi-translucent, creamy swirly color, as is true to vintage machines. The buttons I use on these are the closest replicas available today. They won't shrink and crumble, they just look perfect!
This Kluson® 3 per side tuning machine set has imitation pearloid keystone style buttons and the improved 15:1 gear ratio for more stable and accurate tuning. The housing and button style are period correct for 1956 - 1960 production dates. These feature the standard string thru post. This set comes complete with both bass and treble side tuners, 8.8mm O.D. vintage bushings with 1/4 inch I.D. (part#MB65N US) and mounting screws (TMSC)needed for installation.
See below for any historic period-correct replacement info.
Please note: If you are retro-fitting a vintage instrument that has been modified or putting this vintage style tuning machine on a modern instrument you may also need to purchase appropriate adaptor bushings. These adapter bushings were specifically designed to convert a larger size peghole to vintage size to allow for proper fit and function.
