The T.C. Electronic Finalizer 96k is a legendary digital hardware mastering processor in a 1U rack-mount format. Key features:
Multiband dynamics: By splitting the signal into three independent frequency bands (low, mid, high), it allows you to apply multiband compression, expansion, and limiting. This allows you to increase perceived loudness without squashing or distorting the overall sound.
Equalization: 5-band stereo parametric EQ to fine-tune the tonal balance of the track.
Spectral Stereo Image: Separate control of the stereo image width by frequency (for example, to keep the bass in the center and widen the high frequencies).
Clipper & Normalizer: Tools for optimizing signal peaks and eliminating excessive transients. It can simulate the “soft” saturation of analog tape (soft-clip) or apply a digital hard-clip.
96 kHz A/D and D/A Converters: Compared to the original Finalizer (limited to 48 kHz), the 96k version introduced higher-quality converters and sampling rates up to 96 kHz.
Advanced dithering: Built-in algorithms to downsampling to 16-bit (CD format) while maintaining maximum audio quality.
“Wizard” feature: An automatic wizard that sets the main parameters based on music genre and the desired effect.
